Information Visitors Provide
Search Terms
When a name, county, or other search detail is entered into a partner search tool, that query is sent to the third-party provider that operates the tool. Dewey County Inmate Population does not keep its own log of those search terms.
Messages
If you send an email or contact message, the information in that message may be kept long enough to review and respond. It is not shared outside the site operation except when a legal requirement applies.
Information Collected Automatically
Routine technical information may be collected when a page loads, including:
- Internet Protocol address.
- Browser name and version.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and time spent on those pages.
- The referring website, when one is passed by the browser.
- Dates and times of visits.
Cookies
Cookies and similar tools may be used to understand site traffic and improve page performance. Browser settings can block or delete cookies, although some features or ads may behave differently when cookies are disabled.
How Information Is Used
- Operate the site and keep pages loading reliably.
- Route search requests to the appropriate partner service.
- Understand which Dewey County jail, court, and locator pages are most useful.
- Detect errors, abuse, or technical failures.
- Display advertising that may be based on general visitor interests.
Outside Links and Public Records
This site links to government resources and third-party tools, including sheriff or jail resources, OSCN dockets, ODOC, VINELink, BOP, ICE, and partner search services. Once you leave this site, the destination site's privacy notice controls how your information is handled.
Oklahoma public-record access, including many law-enforcement records, is governed by the Oklahoma Open Records Act, 51 O.S. Section 24A.1 et seq. That law concerns access to government records; it does not control the privacy practices of this private website or third-party advertising systems.
Advertising partners may use their own technologies to measure activity or tailor ads across websites. That tracking happens through their systems, not through a Dewey County government office.
Who May Receive Information
Personal information is not sold as a standalone list. It may be available to these categories of recipients when needed:
- Search partners that process queries entered into their tools.
- Analytics providers used to measure traffic and site performance.
- Advertising networks that serve or measure ads.
- Law-enforcement agencies, courts, or government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure.
Security
Reasonable security practices are used for site operations, but no internet-connected service can promise perfect protection. Transmission, hosting, software, and third-party systems all carry risk.
Visitors Under 18
The site is intended for adults. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has submitted information, a deletion request may be sent through the contacts page.
Privacy Choices
- Ask for a copy of personal information held by the site.
- Request correction of inaccurate contact information.
- Ask for deletion when retention is not legally or operationally required.
- Opt out of certain processing where applicable law provides that choice.
Notice Updates
This privacy notice may be revised from time to time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with the revised effective text.
